REUSABLE WORKPLACES - CUP/CONTAINER LOGISTICS
A successful program relies on providing employees with reusable items and adequate facilities.
LOGISTICS STEPS
- 01
There are many options for ensuring staff access to reusables.
They can bring their own (BYO) cups or use mugs already available in workplace kitchens. Alternatively, you can partner with external providers for cup or container-sharing and wash-up services.
Below are some ideas to explore. Click through to see them all.
For all systems except full-service options, staff will need access to kitchens with a dishwasher or sink to wash their own cups. Your choice will depend on your program’s budget and needs, and wash-up facilities available in your workplace.
- 02
BYO & gifted reusable cups
You can purchase cups to gift to employees from any reusable cup manufacturer. Most offer a custom service that allows you to have your logo imprinted on the cup, and you may even be able to select your brand colours.
Employees can also be encouraged to bring their own cups from home. To be sure they don’t forget to bring their cup, you can encourage them to keep a spare in the office.
Mug Library
We have provided Instructions on how to set up a mug library and a Mug library poster in the Downloads section.
Make sure you have enough mugs for a good proportion of staff in your office.
Micropool & full service offerings
How you implement your micropool system or full service offering will depend on the system you choose. Your service provider will give you instructions and resources to help guide you.
- 03
It's a good idea to assign someone (we suggest your workplace 'Reuse Champions’) to oversee the management, stock and cleanliness of share cups and containers.
This not need be a big role to undertake once staff are in the habit of the new system.
