Plastic Free CQ started in March 2021 to help businesses in Rockhampton and Livingstone go plastic free.
After six years of working alongside cafes, councils, suppliers and communities, the Plastic Free NQ program officially came to an end on March 31, 2026.
What started as a small pilot grew into a statewide program supporting businesses with practical change. Together, we eliminated more than 1.8 million single-use plastic items! This work would not have been possible without the ongoing support of the Queensland Government, Department of Environment and Science.
While the program has wrapped up, the guides, case studies and tools are still available to support businesses across Qld.
